The ways a magnet can move an object are through attraction and repulsion
There are two major ways by which a magnet can move an object. These are:
- Attraction
- Repulsion
According to the law of magnetism, like charges repel while unlike poles attract
Attraction is the process whereby a magnet pulls an object towards itself because of a difference in their polarities. In the process of attraction, magnets move objects toward itself
Repulsion is the process whereby a magnet pushes an object away from itself as a result of similarity in their polarities.
In the process of repulsion, magnets move objects away from itself.
