I’ve had this same question in school to. Here’s my answer:
In the first paragraph, the author states that they have ‘betrayed many beauties’ for their ‘desire’ first making the meaning sound sadistic. In the second paragraph, they state that during their ‘love’ it came with ‘to give us pain’, but even though they believe despite the pain, love still pleases them. The third paragraph, at the final sentence, ‘Despise the fools who whine for love’ they sound wise, intelligent, and makes it sound like love is pain. Therefore, the stanzas brings out a lot details and meaning.
