What is Mezzotint?
Mezzotint is from intaglio family origin and used in the the printmaking process and notably the first tonal method.
it follows a drypoint method procedure without the use of line- or dot-based techniques like hatching, cross-hatching or stipple.
In Mezzoytint, it follows that
- the plate are first roughened with a metal tool called a rocker to produce thousands of little dots
- Followed by In printing,done by the ink in face of the plate with dots.
This produces an image with soft edges and transition of luminosity.
