Answer:
- Sunni muslims say that Abu Bakr R.A was the successor of the prophet Muhammad S.A.W but shi'as reject this claim and say that it was Ali R.A that was the successor of their holy prophet S.A.W.
- Sunni muslims do not curse the sahaba (companions of the prophet Muhammad S.A.W) such as Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Aish'a but the shi'as do curse them except for Ali R.A, Hassan R.A, Hussain R.A, Fatima R.A and Abbas R.A.
- Shi'a muslims beat their chests with their hands and sometimes use knifes (except for the woman). Sunni muslims say that beating yourselves is haram and can be justified by ayat (verse) number 195 in Surah Al Baqarah (The Cow).
Surah Al Baqarah ayat number 195:
Spend in the cause of Allah and do not let your own hands throw you into destruction ˹by withholding˺. And do good, for Allah certainly loves the good-doers.
With tafsir:
Spend your wealth in obedience to Allah, in striving for His sake, and do not throw yourselves into destruction, by leaving the struggle and spending for His sake, or by throwing yourselves into something that will cause your destruction. Behave with excellence and kindness in your worship, transactions and behaviour. Allah loves those who always do good: giving them a greater reward and leading them to true guidance
