33/2 =16.5 sandwiches

if we use two pieces of cheese in each sandwiches how many sandwiches can we make with 15 slices ?

15/2 =7.5 sandwiches

the cheese her will run out first and we would have excess bread

Bread and cheese

In the question, we are told that there are;

  • a loaf which had 33 slices
  • a package of cheese that has 15 slices

We also know from the question that  he is making sandwiches that have 2 pieces of both breed and cheese.

Hence; total number of bread and chese = 33 + 15. Each bread must contain two pieces of each of the bread and chees making a total of four pieces. He can therefore make; 33 + 15/4 = 12 sandwiches.
