Lets do this.
$\frac{1}{2} *x-y=4$   /-$\frac{1}{2}x$
-y=$- \frac{1}{2}x+4$       /*(-1)    
y=$\frac{1}{2}x-4$    - its the result

2y=x+6     /:2   (divide both sides by2 )
y=$\frac{1}{2} x+3$ - its the result
