One thing I found amazing from the Call of the Wild was the love between Buck and John Thorton, and the choice Buck had to make between the wild and civilization, and the journey that went on to help make his decision on where to go. For example, when Buck followed the wolf, but then remembered John Thorton, and went back to the camp. That is a sign of consideration and love that he did not show before. This also shows a character development within himself. After that, Thorton never left his side.
