It seems that you forgot to include the first part of the question.  So we are going to comment on the following.

Puritans were extremely religious people. The Puritans in Massachusetts Bay were Calvinists and superstitious. They believed only a few would be granted salvation and the others, would condemn.

Intolerance was another characteristic of Puritans. Dissenters such as Roger Williams and Anne Hutchinson were banished from the colony because they challenged the governor of Massachusetts. The community of the colony supported that banishment, arguing that Roger Williams spread serious ideas of separation between the Puritans. That is why went on to found the colony of Rhode Island.

Years later, in 1692, Puritans lived a time of witch-hunting. Puritans persecuted what they considered witches, specifically in Salem.
