The distinction between "Broken Windows" strategies and "zero tolerance" tactics may be one of degree. What sorts of public disorder do you think could be controlled by zero tolerance (automatic arrest) tactics, and what might be better suited to a more tolerant, "as long as your behavior remains civil" approach? Drug sales? Drug use? Prostitution? Graffiti? Panhandling? Shoplifting? Truancy? Others?

Explanation:

The two different tactics or strategy of policing may be considered as “Broken Windows” and “zero tolerance”.

“Broken Windows” may be referred to as the analogy of a window that is broken and is not repaired which indicated that no one cares and it thus invites further vandalism.

While on the other hand, the tactic of "zero tolerance" may simply mean taking care of the little things right away. It is considered as an aggressive and hostile way to policing and it is loosely translated to arrest lot many people that is possible for lot many things.
