Read the newspaper this week and pinpoint a problem facing the poor in your community. Once you have chosen a problem, outline a plan that would solve (or at least improve!) this situation at the grassroots level or person-to-person help without government involvement. Your outline should be at least a paragraph long.
Be sure to include the following:
1) Description of the problem.
2) What can be done to improve the problem? 3) Describe the first step in the solution.

Answer: One of the problems facing the poor in our community is there aren't enough jobs. This week in the paper there are only 2 jobs listed and we have just about 2,300 people in our community. A way that we can improve the problem is people can build big stores in places that don't have a lot of businesses that require a lot of people to run them. The first step in the solution is building the stores so that people work in them.
