3x = 2y + 4
solve first equation for x
x = 63 - y
substitute for x in second equation
3(63-y) = 2y + 4
189 - 3y = 2y + 4
add 3y to both sides of =
189 = 5y + 4
subtract 4 from both sides of =
5y - 185
y = 37
x + 37 = 63
x = 26
