1. After the Gupta Dynasty collapsed, Hinduism was vital in unifying the region. The people began combining their faiths with the scripture. The people realized that religion was vital to the growth of the society. Different religions helped in shaping society. Also, new beliefs and practices were accommodated by Asia and this was fit into their practices.

2. Various states of South and Southeast Asia developed and maintained power over time through the expansion of trade. This brought about the spread of religion as Islam was brought to the region by the Muslim traders. Also, new Buddhist states emerged which brought about diversity.
