The Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason, was an intellectual and cultural movement in the eighteenth century that emphasized reason over superstition and science over blind faith.
The Enlightenment is considered the Age of Reason because people discovered new ideas and theories. People broke away from the Catholic Church to find out things for themselves and decide if they believe the philosophers or the church. People were realizing that women didn’t have equality and people were starting to change that because women had a big influence.
