Eli Whitney made the cotton gin, a machine that make taking the seeds out of cotton much easier and faster, this revolutionized the cotton industry in the south as they were able to produce cotton much faster. although Whitney’s intentions were to reduce the need for slave labor, it increased due to farmers wanting to take advantage of the new found speed of the industry and it became the biggest cash crop in the south. if this helps pls give brainliest!
