The purpose of Superannuation is to make sure that every person can attain adequate income during retirement. Superannuation is kind of a way for saving for retirement. Due to this, your employer has to input a percentage of your earnings into your Superannuation account, and you basically live off of that account until you retire. There are also different Superannuation funds, for example Hostplus or UniSuper.
