The Battle of Bunker Hill in Massachusetts took place on June 17 in 1775 (the early days of the Revolutionary War of 1775-1783). Despite suffering many casualties, the colonial forces which had no battle experience succeeded in producing significant casualties from the enemy. The battle then gave them high confidence in facing the Siege of Boston from April 1775 to March 1776.
