If you mean what caused the rise of the English Colonies here in the U.S back in the 1600's the answer is, Because the British defeated the Spanish Armada (it has to be armada you'll get it wrong if its not) since the british defeated the spanish armada the british had control of the U.S colonies that was in spanish control, since the spaniards where defeated the british had control of the seas aswell
