1) The genre of Joker is Psychological Thriller, Crime, and drama. In the poster, we see a Joker, and jokers are often associated with Crime, horror, thrillers.

2) We see a Joker in the poster, and jokers symbolize getting laughed at, behind a mask. Whereas over here we see the Joker himself smiling, and he looks like he is free as his body is loose. One thing to notice is that the joker isn't wearing a mask or clown suit anymore, they have become a joker themselves, this means that the joker is free of their mask, of hiding their identity, and are the joker itself.

3) We can make up a lot of things just looking at the poster. We see stairs, and the joker on top of it, this suggests he climbed the stairs and is smiling with relief on top. In the background we see buildings, and they put us in a depressing mood with the dirty paint, and the cage like building. Except that, in the background all we see is light, bright light, provoking a hopeful mood. On the bottom of the stairs it is shown dark, and on the top it is bright, so the joker rose from the darkness to light and is at ease on top. This shows that something must have happened to the main character that made him put on this joker makeup and the tagline put on a happy face. I think this tagline means just what it says, smile. He is saying this that whatever the situation is, smile. This intrigues the readers to become keen about what events happened in the character's life to turn him into this and raise the tagline of put on a happy face.

5) The title is relatively large, and the actor's name is also pretty large and bold compared to the other texts. The actor's name being like this means that he is famous, and want his name to stand out in the poster. We also notice that the font for the title and name is the same, meaning that the actor is the joker.

6) In my opinion, the poster displays a man manifesting the joker, who rose from the staircase and is smiling as if relieved from something. He rose from the darkness to light from society. In my sense, I believe the hook is the joker himself, he is a man who has manifested himself as the joker and is releived from society ( as we see the buildings in back) He is finally at ease and is happy. This encourages more people to watch the film becuase of the famous actor, and the topic of the movie.
