PG1 -William Stephens was a former member of the British Parliament who migrated from Britain to Savannah in 1737. The trustees in Britain hired Stephens to be their secretary. He was an excellent writer, and he was responsible for submitting regular updates about the state of the colony and the attitude of the colonists.
