Well to man/woman is more or likely being cheated on as he or she uses sentences like "Suspicion kissed you when I did." and "It were a cold house I kept" This leads me to believe that author was being cheated on and she/he "knew" but did not want to admit it so she/he put up with it. "Suspicion kissed you when I did" The author must have felt something off in the kiss of her lover, he/she may have been kissed in a way that made the author get suspicious of her/his lover. "I never knew how I should say, my love" I believe that she/he did not know how to tell her/his lover about his/her suspicion. Lastly, "It were a cold house I kept" Well I kind of already explained this one. Its as if the author knew but she/he did not say anything to their lover making them feeling sad and cold inside and maybe they were sharing a house so then it would make sense that it was hard for the author to be in that house, that bed, or even near her lover. But of course along with her/him being cheated on, the author themselves cold be hiding something from her/his lover makin her/him feel guilty. So the theme may be Romantic, guilty or broken but the most accurate is romantic.
