The conflict in the story involves Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham. It started at the Archery contest at Gamewell in Nottingham. Robin Hood won but his arrow had a peacock feather on it which only outlaws put on their arrows. The Sheriff then went after Robin Hood because he didn't want him to become the next king too.
