Why did some people think that there was evidence of intelligent life on Mars?

Explanation: Water and ice caps if there's water there's life. but its not entirely true... because there isn't any life on mars... or so NASA says National Aeronautics and Space Administration more like Never a straight answer.

Many people believed that there was evidence of intelligent life on Mars, because of the similarities of this planet to planet Earth and because there are indications that there was water on Mars.

Although it is currently known that there is no intelligent life on Mars, many researchers believe that this planet has been inhabited in the past.

There is some evidence that allows this speculation to be established. Among this evidence, scientists claim that:

Mars has some characteristics similar to planet Earth.
Many rocks on Mars have organic molecules.
There is evidence that the surface of Mars once had water about two thousand years ago.
There is water at the poles of Mars.
There are water flows on the planet's hot slopes that are resistant to freezing.

With this, we can see that, according to the evidence, it is not possible to affirm that there was already intelligent life on Mars, but that the planet has the possibility of having been populated by microorganisms.
