What are some of the ways that parasites have adapted to transmission between hosts and resisting the host’s attempts to get rid of the parasite? How do these particular developments help the parasite?

This question is kind of going over my head for some reason and I just need a little help?

Respuesta :

Tapeworms, for example adapted smaller eggs to increase the chances of not being seen when a animal drinks water, and hooked mouths to cling to the small intestine. They also evolved thin and flattened bodies to maximize the nutrient absorption. I hope this helped

Parasites are the microorganisms that live inside the other organism's body and utilize their energy for growth and reproduction. The relationship between the parasite and the other organism has not been a mutual relationship, as parasites are getting benefited, while the other organism has been getting harmed.

Since the parasites harm the other organism, the other organism tries to get rid of the parasites. However, parasites have adapted to the conditions to grow inside the other organism's body.

Some of the physical adaptations of the parasites for transmission between hosts and resisting the other organism's attempts to get rid of the parasite are:

  • Smaller size than their host.
  • Presence of well-developed piercing devices.
  • Absence of locomotory organs.
  • High chemo-sensitivity.
