a few words how each would look (example: pencils would create a thin, smooth texture with
a neutral color)?
4. One of the painting mediums listed in the unit was 'watercolor; and it could be described as
light, smooth, airy. Can you list the other three painting mediums from the unit, and give a
few words to describe each?
5. Look at the following colors and, next to each one, write whether it is primary, secondary, or
tertiary. Also, please list whether each color is warm or cool.

Imagine that you are creating a self-portrait using paint. Which colors would you use if you could only choose three? Why would you choose these three? How do you think these colors would impact the tone (or feeling) of your self-portrait?

For an artist, art supplies (like paints, brushes, paper, clay etc.) are their very important tools. What are some other jobs that require specific tools or supplies in order to be successful? Please come up with at least two examples and describe the ‘tools.’

Imagine that you are the owner of an art studio where artists come and share the space to create art. What are some rules that you would make to keep your art studio safe and running smoothly? Why are these rules important? List and describe at least three rules.

As an artist, how would you decide which medium you are going to use? Would it depend more on the subject of your art piece or the tone (feeling) you hope to create – or something else entirely? Can you think of any other mediums that you know of that were not discussed in the unit?
