9/11 caused institutionalized racism to increase; whether everyone meant for that or not it did because the event was extremly emotional and with that kind of hurt people will look for someone to blame. This can happen subconsionly meaning the people who have never belived the pre judgements they made suddenly started beleiving. Security when traveling majorly increased and targeted poc in particular especially in the near future after 9/11.
