The slope is [tex]-2[/tex].

(Please comment if you want explanation)

Ok, My answer is marked wrong and I don't know why. Ok, kindakait asked for the slope of the line in the graph.

To find the slope of the line is [tex]\frac{∆y}{∆x} \\[/tex] or so they call [tex]\frac{rise}{run} \\[/tex].

We can clearly see that to be at (-2,1) from (-4,5). You have to rise by -4 units and run by 2 units. Therefor:

[tex]m = \frac{rise}{run} \\ m = \frac{-4}{2} \\ m = -2[/tex].

If you are not satisfied yet. Let's try another points. (0,-3) and (1,-5) and this is obvious by just eyeballing it.

[tex]m = \frac{rise}{run} \\ m = \frac{-2}{1} \\ m = -2[/tex].

Answer:

slope is -4

Step-by-step explanation:

(-1, 1) (0, -3)

(-3 - 1)/(0 + 1) = -4/1 = -4

y + 3 = -4(x - 0)

y + 3 = -4x + 0

y = -4x - 3
