The Separatists and Puritans left England to practice their religion freely without any interruption from the Church of England. They separated themselves from the Church of England because they saw too much of Catholic practices. The puritans and Separatists often faced prosecution in England for going against the Church. By coming in North America, settling colonies, able to escape prosecution and practice their beliefs freely without any threats.
