A scientific hypothesis: I commented on research done on Jacamars. The hypothesis in that study was that younger jacamars were more likely to try to eat novel morph butterflies. In all simplicity they hypothesis is the prediction.
Scientific Law: A scientific law does not attempt to explain why or how. A scientific law simply notes and observation that has been repeatedly observed.
Scientific Theory: Theories attempt to explain why or how a phenomenon happens in the universe.
* A word very commonly associated with "theory" is evolution. It is not logical to reject "evolution" because its a "theory". A theory is an explanation of why a phenomenon occurs. It is more appropriate to say "I reject Evolution because it does not explain what its observed in nature." In other words you don't reject it because its an explanation, but because it isn't a good one. Please see creation.com for more information.
