In my opinion, it has made a very “us versus them” look on both sides of the spectrum.
The two party system has led to the present state of polarization today
- through the way that they have downplayed all other alternative views.
- Also the two party system is said to have become less competitive.
- It has led to apathy among voters. The reason is that there is only a few choices of party.
Polarization can be described as a situation whereby a citizens views on the political issues going on in their country is only based on the political party that they identify with.
The two party system has the republicans and the democrats as the dominating parties. The citizens that belong to either of these parties would refuse the ideologies of the other party.
