No I do not think what is currently being done in your community, adequately promotes social and environmental justice.
Social justice refers to when resources are distributed in society in such a way that everyone gets a fair share.
Environmental justice is when everyone in society gets a fair treatment regardless of their demographic characteristics such as race, nationality or even gender.
From a global community perspective, I do not think social and environmental justice are being adequately promoted because:
- resources are not being fairly distributed which is why we have poor countries and rich countries as well as billionaires while in some areas some people barely made a dollar a day.
- people are also being discriminated against everyday based on their races, color, gender and nationality and it does not seem to be ending.
In conclusion, more work needs to be done to ensure social justice in the global community.
