Hey there! I'm happy to help!
The Boston Tea Party was a protest against the British tax on tea. Because the British were in a lot of debt, they imported lots of tea into the colonies and put a tax on it to try and regain money. This made the colonists angry, so they threw lots of tea into the Boston Harbor.
Answer A is wrong because the tea was perfectly fine.
Answer C is incorrect because the tea was from the British.
Answer D is incorrect because the colonists got the tea from Britain.
Therefore, the answer is B. the colonists objected to the monopoly on tea and the import duty.
Have a wonderful day! :D
Answer:
The colonists objected to the monopoly on tea and the import duty.
Explanation:
Hello! I'm giving these facts based off the top of my head but here we go:
The tea was heavily taxed by the British(?) which was meant to go to war "recovery" funds.
No one liked how their money was being taken from them and dumped (in todays money) millions of dollars worth of tea into the ocean. It is nothing like a tea party hahah. I believe this also lead to lots of people transitioning into coffee.
I also took the test so for those in K12, B is the correct answer! The answer above explains why the other answers are incorrect. (don't wanna be too repetitive!)
Hope this helps!!
