The carpal bones which is located in the wrist is an example of Gliding joint.
Carpal bones are the bones that are found in the wrist, they are composed of eight bones. These eight bones are linked to the forearm and hand. The function of the wrist in the human body is to effectively position the hand in the right position. The carpal bone helps the wrist to rotate to different angles.
These eight set of bones are arranged in two rows;
- proximal row
- distal row
The gliding joints allows two or more bones to move smoothly in a surface.
