Alcoholism in teens can affect brain development and henceforth their maturity levels, leading them to get in lots of trouble with their teachers and other authoritative figures. It also causes significant memory loss and this can be detrimental when a student needs to recall information for a test or other important assignment.
The effects that alcoholism has on school performance are students who consumed alcohol at hazardous levels were more likely to experience moderate / high psychological distress and more likely to experience academic problems.
Two suggestions that help a student to overcome their alcohol problem are by avoiding temptation and peer pressure, doing meditation regularly.
