Answer:

The purpose of the Paris Agreement was to develop the strategies to cope with climate change across the world.

Some of the weakness of the agreement includes lack of implementation by some countries.

Explanation:

Paris Agreement was an international treaty adopted by many countries in December 2015. The full name of this treaty is 'Paris Agreement Under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.'

The aim of this treaty was to develop strategies to cope with climate change across the world. The treaty got it's name by the place where the agreement took place, Paris. The agreement dealt with greenhouse gas emission, global warming, etc. 197 nations signed the treaty on November 4, 2016, of which, only 187 were ratified.

Though the treaty was formed with a purpose to cope with climate change, it has it's own limitations as well. Some major backdrop of the treaty were that though the nations promised to maintain global temperature below 2 degree celsius, many nations failed to follow it. James Harrison, a former NASA scientist, even called it a fraud treaty, for not being able to implement what is promised.
