Can someone please explain! or give me the answers either way!!!!

Hey there! Hopefully I can shed a little light on the issue.
So you have pairs of shapes. Each pair is the same shape, but a different size.
For example, the second pair of figures are both rectangles. That's easy.
So to solve for x, which means we find out the value of the longest side of the second rectangle, you can:
multiply 4 by 2
See because the first rectangle has sides that are 6 and 3, respectfully, and the laws the govern the ratio of the sides of rectangles do not change, even though one is bigger.
So for a rectangle, the longest sides are always going to be the smaller sides multiplied by 2.
As for the other shapes, they all have specific rules governing their ratios.
It's as simple as looking up those rules in your textbook or online.
Best of luck, learner!
