The midpoint is basically the 'middle' or 'in between' the two endpoints. Since the endpoints are 3 and 5 this means that the y or x coordinates is the same. For example, it can mean that the endpoint is (3,0) and (5,0) or (0,3) and (0,5) and so, it means that it will either be a straight horizontal or vertical line. To get the midpoint, you use the same formula for midpoint which is M= x1+x2/2 (let's pretend that the endpoints are (3,0) and (5,0).
m=3+5/2 =8 So the midpoint is 8.
