Gloria discovered the bird, fluttering around the ground trailing its wing. She felt sorry for it and coaxed Abby into helping her catch it. Abby was afraid that they would hurt it even more, so she let Gloria throw the net. Watching from his house across the street, Caleb was crying silently. He hadn't meant to hurt the bird -- he never thought he'd actually hit it with his rock. He was glad Abby was helping it.
