Land conflicts commonly become violent when linked to wider processes of political exclusion, social discrimination, economic marginalization, and a perception that peaceful action is no longer a viable strategy for change.

a resource that has been fought over in the present and previous century has been oil. oil has been fought over so much because of it’s high value in the industrialized world. oil is also fought over because it’s a non renewable resource that won’t last us forever.
