I think the different between the adaptation of the novel to its actual novel is that the adaptation sometimes skip some part of the novel that could give briefly the true content or the outcome of the said event. I hope this would help. Have a nice day.
Most film adaptations differ from the original text version of the story since they create less sympathy for the creature by making him a mindless beast.
In the book, the monster mostly behaves akin to a human despite his monstruous apearance. Meanwhile, the movies intend to tell a horror story so that they depicts the moster as a hideous and fearsome criature by making him make noises or speak incoherently, rumble and growl.
However, in the books, the author aims to show that the monster could be more human than the real human who created him.
