There are 3 available methods - Substitution , Elimination and Matrix.
The substitution method is used to eliminate one of the variables by replacement.
The elimination method is used for solving linear systems.
A Matrix is an array of numbers.
Lets use Substitution to solve this system.
[tex]x-2=4x-5[/tex]
[tex]-2=4x-5-x[/tex]
[tex]-2=(4x-x)-5 [/tex]
[tex]-2=3x-5[/tex]
[tex]-2+5=3x[/tex]
[tex]3=3x[/tex]
[tex]3=3x / 3[/tex]
[tex]x=1[/tex]
Now substitute [tex]x=1[/tex]
[tex]y=x-2[/tex]
[tex]y=1-2 [/tex]
[tex]y=-1 [/tex]
Hence - [tex]x=1 y=-1[/tex]
