What can she do to help easily understand the information? The answer is A. Bring someone with her to the appointments to help listen and ask questions because it can be overwhelming to hear and process all the information on her own

The correct answer is A. Having someone else the patient trusts at a medical appointment can make the patient feel more at ease allowing them to absorb the information better and also the other person can take in the information too and make any enquiries the patient might forget. In addition if the appointment is too overwhelming for the patient as many medical appointments are then the other person will be there to take over for the patient completely. The calmer the patient the better.

B is incorrect as online information is never guaranteed to be 100% correct and in most cases will alarm and scare the patient as worst case scenarios are present online and everyone's experience of illness is different. Speaking to your own medical professional first is always recommended.

C is incorrect as even though medical professionals are experts in their fields of knowledge they are not experts in people as individuals and we all experience illnesses and life differently. We all have personal concerns stemming from our personal lives and backgrounds therefore it is important that all medical professionals take personal opinions and concerns into consideration so a plan can be made as how best to treat a patient.

D is incorrect as any questions the patient may have should be addressed during the appointment face to face with the doctor.
