Australia has about 2 to 3 lakh species and of which 250 mammal species are native, 550 species of aquatic birds and 680 species of reptiles, 190 species of frog, and 2000 species of freshwater fish.
Australia has a very fragile ecosystem as climate change and global warming create impacts on the agriculture, sea-level rise, and desertification of lands. Australian biota is unique and diverse many of the fish found near the costs are endemic to lands.
Till date, about 20 species of birds and 70 species of flowering plants have become extinct and 2000 have been red-listed due to the presence of the wildfires and habitat loss
