Choose all of the sets of points that define non-linear functions.

(−4, 0), (−3, 3), (−2, 6), (−1, 0)
(−4, 16), (−2, 4), (2, 4), (4, 16)
(−4, −10), (−2, −8), (2, −4), (4, −2)
(−4, −1), (−2, 1), (2, 5), (4, 7)

Answer:

In my opinion, I think the answer is b---- (−4, 16), (−2, 4), (2, 4), (4, 16)

Explanation:

I graphed every set of points and this is what I got

A. (−4, 0), (−3, 3), (−2, 6), (−1, 0)       This was not a linear function, BUT it was not in the shape of a Quadratic function

B. (−4, 16), (−2, 4), (2, 4), (4, 16) *This was also non-linear* BUT this was in the shape of a quadratic function, it was shaped like a parabola

C. (−4, −10), (−2, −8), (2, −4), (4, −2)  This was a linear function not non-linear

D. (−4, −1), (−2, 1), (2, 5), (4, 7)  This was also a linear function

I hope this helped :)

The sets of points that define non-linear functions are:
"(−4, 16), (−2, 4), (2, 4), (4, 16)" (Option B)

What is a non-linear function?

The graph is non-linear if it is not a straight line. A non-linear function's graph is a curved line.
