Change blindness describe a situation in which an observer fails to detect an important details of an object in a scene due to limited attention. It also occur as a result of failure on the part of the observer to notice the movement or disappearance of an object.

Example of change blindness is when an observer is discussing certain subject matter with someone, whereas the attention of the person has shifted to other areas but the observer continues the discussion on same subject matter. Here, the observer fails to spot changes in object's behaviour before continuing with the discussion.

A number of factors can cause change blindness;

-Limited attention on the part of the observer. He fails to pay close attention to the object hence miss vital change in the object.

-it could also be as a result of damage or injury to the brain hence unable to notice either major or minor change of an object.

One of the remedy to change blindness is to pay close or maximum attention to details.

The failure of Ebony might be because she was not concentrating and therefore was not aware that Irene had been replaced by another person.

Based on the information that is given, it was likely that Ebony was not concentrating which could be a result of change blindness. This occurs when a person could not notice a particular visual change.

Change blindness can be a result of distraction, age, use of psychoactive drugs. Hence, this could have resulted in Ebony not being aware that Isadora had replaced Irene.
