Jake built a skateboard ramp, if the distance of the ramp is 10 ft. The ramp rises a

total of 3.5ft. What angle does the ramp make with the ground? Round to the

nearest degree.

Answer:

Angle made by ramp with ground is ≈[tex]19.29^{\circ}[/tex]

Step-by-step explanation:

Diagram of given scenario is shown below.

Given that,

Horizontal Distance of Skateboard ramp is [tex]10[/tex] ft.

Height of Skateboard ramp is [tex]3.5[/tex] ft.

From figure,

It is forming a Right angle triangle [tex]\triangle ABC[/tex].

In [tex]\triangle ABC[/tex], [tex]AB=3.5[/tex] and [tex]BC=10[/tex].

Clearly see that we need to find measure of angle [tex]\angle C[/tex].

Using Trigonometric ratio:

     [tex]Tan(\theta)= \frac{Perpendicular}{Base}[/tex]

So,  [tex]Tan(\angle C) = \frac{AB}{BC} =\frac{3.5}{10} =0.35[/tex]

Then [tex]\angle C=Tan^{-1} (3.5)=19.290046^{\circ}[/tex]

Therefore, Angle made by ramp with ground is ≈[tex]19.29^{\circ}[/tex]
