Here's what my teacher taught me;
Narration is to tell a story based upon a personal experience.
you want to use setting and characters. Make sure you know the problems the character may have to solve as well as the goal of the essay, also make sure plot and outcome are involved.
In the notes my teacher gave us he explained it it crucial to have three main things
1. Exposition; this is the any background knowledge about the characters or the plot that the reader must know.
2.Complication this is basically the story itself. It's the part of the essay that develops the narrative by introducing some type of conflict. the conflict should introduce a antagonist and protagonist.
3. and last you need Resolution; this is the stories ending, the essay should follow the story's resolution with discussion or comments about the story.
