Explanation:
Schist is a type of a metamorphic rock but it is a medium grade of these metamorphic rocks. It is formed by the metamorphosis of the mud stone or the shale.
These type of metamorphic rocks can also be formed from igneous rocks provided these have been subjected to higher degrees of temperature or pressure. These are type of rocks which do not solidify from magma even despite subjection to intense heat and pressure.
