Hamlet spends most of the play able to use his words to show his emotions, verbally spar with his foes like Claudius and Gertrude, and make fun of Polonius and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. No one seems able to keep up with Hamlet - except for the gravedigger who, surprisingly, is able to match Hamlet’s wit throughout the scene.
