How would you describe the U.S.'s motivation for fighting the Mexican-American War?

A. The U.S wanted to gain as much land from Mexico as possible.

B. The U.S was concerned that Spain would try to invade Texas.

C. The U.S wanted to frighten Great Britain into selling the Oregon territory

D. The U.S was worried that Santa Anna would lead an invasion of California

Respuesta :

The answer is A because for starters, B has nothing to do with the Mexican American War. It is not C because Great Britain was neutral and had nothing to do with Mexican American affairs. It is not D because California had already declared independence and was not part of the U.S. The Union had nothing to do with California.
