1) Unless the coach says something different, the QB (quarterback) calls all the plays, he's like the captain.

3) 10 yards from the initial area, if they get pushed back, the yards they have to advance are more in order for first down. So if I start the play on the 50 yard line and I get pushed back to my own 40, I have to advance 20 yards now instead of just 10
